So, what does Jonathan get up to?

A day in the life

From on-site support, CMM Subcontract Services and aftermarket technical help to training, Jonathan, or as he’s known at Status “Jonny”, his days can be pretty varied.

Naturally, Jonny spends a lot of time with customers old and new, remotely and in person.

Adding value is incredibly important – when Jon and the team are sent some drawings or components to review and measure that they know aren’t quite right, rather than simply telling the customer they’re incorrect, Jonny will go back to the customer explaining ‘this is why it’s wrong, and this is how to get it right next time’, as well as delivering the corrections.

It’s an education process – a way of helping everyone improve – and one Jonny and the team are very proud of.

Reducing recurring problems helps the customer, and frankly, adds a lot more value than constantly billing to fix them.

But Jonny’s work doesn’t stop there.

On a weekly basis, he’ll be hitting the road with Marketing and Sales Director Richard, supporting him in especially technical conversations with prospective customers.

Outside the office

Homelife is spent with Jonny’s partner of 10 years, Emma.

Together they’re two years into a full house renovation and extension, with the end goal of having a big entertaining space for friends and family. And it’ll need to be big – at Jonny’s birthday, they hosted 55!

It’s no mean feat, especially as they’re undertaking most jobs themselves and have a keen eye for detail. Weekends for Jonny are often spent semi-voluntarily touring the local kitchen, bathroom, and flooring showrooms, with him now on first-name terms with the team at B&Q.

Emma and Jonny are both into their food – what was once a Saturday night dancing has matured into dinner and a few drinks with friends.

In the warmer months, Jonny’s BBQ and meat Smoker see some serious action, with everything from brisket, ribs, pork shoulder and lamb receiving anything up to 24 hours of attention.

Emma and Jonny both share a love of football, but don’t let the fact that Emma’s family are Mansfield and Forest fans, and Jonny’s family are Derby supporters come between them!

We are reliably informed Jonny’s parents give them an appropriate amount of stick for it…

Either way, whether it’s Derby, Forest, Mansfield town, or a non-league Sunday kick about, Jonny simply loves the game.
