CMM Calibration

Ensuring consistency and reliability

CMM calibration is the process of restoring a machine back to its stated specifications. This is a separate service from a verification and there are a number of factors to bear in mind when considering a calibration for your measuring machine.

To provide 100% continuous output from the CMM, you must calibrate it accurately and frequently within the required performance parameters. It is essential in order to maintain your machine’s accuracy, ensuring they deliver consistent, reliable measurements.

At Status, we offer you many different calibration options for machines you buy from us or for CMMs you purchase somewhere else. Each machine needs a different and careful approach to calibration. Take a closer look at how we can help…

Pre-calibration can be performed by one of our Status Service Engineers before the calibration process. It’s a step we always recommend to potentially reduce costs after calibration as it will identify CMM maintenance or repairs that could affect the calibration process. Our Service Engineers use a set checklist to ensure that the machine is really usable and suitable for calibration. This includes checking things like the cabling and connections for damage or wear, inspecting the air filtration system, running a measurement cycle to check the motor function, wiping down machine covers and the computer, reviewing firmware revision levels and updating if needed, plus much more.

A Partner You Can Trust

We’re ‘Safe Contractor’ approved and fully accredited to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017, ISO10360/2 for CMM calibration and Part Measurement. These levels of accreditation are essential for ensuring competence of testing and calibration services and is standard practice for any OEM engineer that is looking to perform a full calibration, or even verification. Additionally, each of our Status Service Engineers goes through extensive training with our partners at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.
